چکیده
Due to the huge difference in thermophysical properties, it is difficult obtain a defect-free bonding interface between copper and steel. A Cu-Ni-Ti interlayer was added TiC-reinforced matrix composite coating Q235 steel this study improve its interfacial bond. The influence of on microstructure properties studied by characterizing microstructure, phase composition, wear resistance coatings. Both coatings were found consist α-Cu matrix, situ-generated TiC, Fe-rich phases. With addition interlayer, high-hardness unmixed zone at successfully eliminated due sufficient mixing molten pool. Even more importantly, liquid metal embrittlement cracks also restrained, resulting from solid solution band that reduced contact probability around atoms with grain boundaries formed. In addition, results showed microhardness improved loss 4.2% after adding which related combined action strengthening, second-phase strengthening grain-refinement mechanisms.

A TiN and TiN·Ti2Cu reinforced copper matrix composite layer was cladded onto a T3 copper substrate to improve the anti-wear performance of copper products by means of the nitrogen-shielded gas tungsten arc cladding method (N2-GTAC). Better than the traditional preparation method of TiN, the TiN particles in the cladding layer were in situ generated using N atoms of shielding gas and Ti atoms o...

This paper deals with the investigation of the microstructure and hardness of steel samples cladded with satellite 6-WC composites by using gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) process. For this purpose, steel samples were coated with unreinforced and reinforced stellite (by 20, 30 and 40 wt.% WC). The cladded samples were evaluated by metallographic studies, microhardness measurement and X-ray diff...

The Ni-Ti-Si composite coatings were successfully fabricated on Ti6Al4V by laser cladding. The microstructure were studied by SEM (scanning electron microscopy) and EDS (energy dispersive spectrometer). It has been found that Ti₂Ni and Ti₅Si₃ phases exist in all coatings, and some samples have TiSi₂ phases. Moreover, due to the existence of these phases, coatings presented relatively higher mic...

متن کاملGas tungsten arc welding of direct quenched wear resistant steel to plain carbon steel and evaluation of its microstructure and wear properties
In this research, the dissimilar welding of St52 plain carbon steel to W400 wear resistant steel and its effect on the microstructure and wear properties of the wear resistant steel was investigated. The wear resistant steel was produced via direct quenching with nominal hardness of 400 HB. Gas tungsten arc welding was used for joining process. The results showed that welding led to hardness re...
